NBIS Awards

The Security Excellence Awards are highly regarded within the security industry, having been established for 7 years and judged by senior industry representatives. The category of Best IT Initiative awards the individual or organisation that has made the most positive use of IT in the security sector. The judges were looking for innovative new software, intranets or communication solutions that had a quantifiable benefit to the security sector, and this is what they found in NBIS.

The BCS Annual IT Professional Awards mark the key contribution made by the IT profession to economic prosperity, to business efficiency and to our public services. The judges recognised the benefits that NBIS has to offer to society, through enabling crime reduction partnerships to share information securely on individuals involved in criminal and anti-social activities against the retail & business sectors. As a result NBIS was nominated as one of three medallists in the category for Social Contribution.

The judges of the E-Commerce Awards selected NBIS as the winner in the South East region for the Best Use of Broadband, understanding that broadband made the implementation of NBIS as a national secure network viable, enabling the successful creation of a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Broadband technology allows the national sharing of data across the NBIS network, sending and receiving vast amounts of information, including images, at high speed through the secure encrypted paths of the VPN.

These accolades are testament to the strengths and benefits of NBIS, now in use by an ever increasing number of BCRPs throughout the UK, including Kent, Northampton, Chester, Bolton, Dudley, Uxbridge, and Bedford. The independent award bodies recognise what NBIS has to offer BCRPs from a Social, Security and Technology point of view.
