| Interfaces
Hicom’s Clinical Information Systems have been designed using open systems architecture, which enables information to be easily exchanged with other software applications and data-sources. Most of Hicom’s systems can export data in a number of industry recognised formats, including: Excel™, Lotus™, Word™, CSV, Fixed-Length, Access™, XML Our systems integrate with the Microsoft Office suite, facilitating direct interaction with Excel spreadsheets and Word documents. Mail merge facilities are available within certain applications, enabling documents to be ‘linked’ to the system for single or multiple mailing purposes. All of Hicom’s CIS applications are MAPI compliant, which means that most industry standard email applications (such as Outlook and GroupWise) can be controlled by the application. This enables email messages to be prepared and distributed to one or multiple recipients from within the application itself. Specific interfaces can be developed for the direct exchange of information with other software applications. Typical examples of these include links to hospital PAS, HIS and Pathology systems. To-date interfaces have been developed to the following systems:
