There are many events serving diabetes, particularly during November with it being diabetes awareness month, however this year we opted to take part in Diabetes Professional Care, a free-to-attend exhibition which focuses on sharing knowledge and showcasing innovation surrounding diabetes. It is very relevant to the industry no matter which companies, products and professionals attend as they all relate to diabetes in one way or another.
The event is mostly for commissioners, scientists, healthcare professionals, researchers and prescribers, however anyone with an interest in diabetes can attend as the event refreshes your own knowledge of the latest industry developments and allows you to find practical solutions which you can instantly put into practice.
We decided to attend and sponsor the exhibition to demonstrate what we can offer healthcare professionals working within the industry, to show who the people behind our brand and products are and to build relationships first-hand with those who are helping patients suffering from this condition on day-to-day basis. Also as we are one of the leading providers of diabetes management software we wanted to directly communicate with healthcare professionals to gain pioneering knowledge ensuring that our future developments meet their expectations and improve their efficiency and productivity. With this in mind, we believed that such events are a great opportunity to launch our latest product, Community Module, which facilitates diabetes patient care in the community, as it would connect with healthcare professionals directly.
This event for us was a great platform to meet with many professionals whilst it enabled us to listen to the industries needs and expectations so that our current and future products meet these to provide best practice for patients.

With the events industry constantly evolving and new events are being added to calendars, it is becoming more challenging to attract a high level of delegates, meaning that exhibitors and organisers must work closely and keep their marketing approach very focused to ensure that the programme reflects both delegates’ expectations and suppliers’ business goals. Diabetes Professional Care provided us with the opportunity to meet our customers, industry peers, make new relationships and hear from healthcare professionals on their work and successes. So is there a future for exhibitions? In our minds yes there is, as it is a great networking and educational part of our marketing efforts. What is next for us here at Hicom?
